Saldula melanoscela

This bug is only found in one site in the UK in the mouth of the River Wampool, Cumbria and in Europe it is found on sandy substrates bordering rivers, lakes and temporary water bodies. Adults which overwinter, have been recorded between April and July. There is no information on feeding habits (Cook 2015)

It is very similar to Saldula c-album but doesnt have the c-shaped mark on the outside of the wing and is smaller and less ovate. It has straight edges to the pronotum that are strongly convergent.
